Introduction
Firhouse Carmel was formed in 1974. From our beginnings we have developed into a club of which we can be proud.
It is very important in any club to have a coherent Code of Conduct for players, mentors, supporters and in the case of juvenile players, parents.
The Code of Conduct can be found in the following pages and it is the duty of all members (and/or the parents/guardians of members aged less than eighteen years) of Firhouse Carmel Football Club to familiarize themselves with all the rules of the club and in particular to ensure that they have read and understood the enclosed Code of Conduct.
The committee of Firhouse Carmel Football Club in the persons of its duly appointed officers has the power to deal with any breaches of these codes by players, parents, managers, coaches or other members as it sees fit, up to the ultimate sanction of banning the offending individuals or teams from all club activities.
Players Code of Conduct
1.Remember that Firhouse Carmel is your club. Respect your club, your teammates, your club mates, your managers and respect yourself.
2.Co-operate with your managers, teammates, referees and opponents.
3.Play for enjoyment, not just to please your parents or manager.
4.Play at all times according to the rules of the game.
5.Always accept the referee’s decision. Abuse of the referee will not be tolerated.
6.Play with control and do not loose your temper. Resist the temptation to retaliate when you feel you have been wronged.
7.Remember you are playing a team game. Play for yourself and your team - your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.
8.Be a “good Sport”. Applaud all good play whether by your team or your opponents.
9.Do not “Bully” or take advantage of any player. Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
10.At the final whistle shake hands with your opponents and referee. Win with humility and lose with dignity.
11.Remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good.
12.Always let your manager know, well in advance, if you cannot attend a training session and, especially, if you will not be available for a match.
13.Always wear the correct full Firhouse Carmel FC kit for matches and be on time for all activities
Parents Code of Conduct
1.Remember that all children are accepted into the club regardless of religion, race, color or ability. Teach your children to accept their team mates without prejudice.
2.Remember that the children are involved in Firhouse Carmel for their enjoyment, not yours.
3.Do not treat the club as a child minding service. Always ensure that you arrange to have your child collected at the correct time and place after any matches, training or other Firhouse Carmel activities.
4.Encourage the children to play by the rules of the game.
5.Teach the children that honest endeavour is as important as winning and that the result of the game is accepted without disappointment.
6.Never humiliate or shout at players for making a mistake or losing the game.
7.When at games and training do not use abusive language.
8.Recognise the value and importance of volunteer managers, coaches, referees and officials and give them their due respect. Without them, there would be no schoolchildren’s soccer.
9.Never get involved with the referees decision.
10.Adults have an important role to play when it comes to a Code of Conduct. Please help all juveniles by leading by example on and off the field of play.
11.Sullpy your child’s team managers with details about any injuries and medical conditions which your child may have and what your family doctor has advised in relation to playing soccer.
12.Football is a physical contact sport in which injuries, including serious injuries can occur and you should only allow your child to take part in football with Firhouse Carmel FC if you accept the risks involved. Parents should arrange appropriate personal injury insurance to cover their children’s football activities if this has not been arranged by the club.
Supporters Code of Conduct
1.Verbal abuse of managers, players, match officials or opposing supporters cannot be accepted in any shape or form. Managers, players, match officials or opposing supporters should never be regarded as fair targets for ignorant or abusive behavior.
2.Remember that although children play organized soccer they are not miniature professionals. Don’t place excessive pressure on children to perform to unrealistically high expectations. Children play soccer to develop their skills, to have fun and enjoy the game.
3.When at games remember to encourage the children one and all. Applaud good play, sportsmanship and best effort by the visiting team as well as your own.
4.Welcome and respect all your teams’ opponents. Without them there would be no match.
5.Last but not least, we would like to thank all our supporters.
